Chile de Arbol peppers are a small [cayenne] looking variety hailing from Mexico. Their name means "tree chili" in Spanish because of its long wooden stem and includes several nicknames such as bird's beak chilies or rat's tail chiles.

This small, slender, curved, bright red pepper is a popular pepper to use in many cuisines! The Chile De Arbol Pepper is typically dried and produces the best flavor when you dry them. Delivering a quick heat punch, this pepper has fruity, smoky, and nutty tones, which makes it a great addition to add to salsas, sauces, soups, and stews.

With Scoville Units ranging from 15,000 – 30,000, this is a low medium sauce, with just a touch of delayed heat on the tongue. For people that like a little heat and a lot of flavor.

This is also available as a dried pepper, which is a bit hotter and spicier than the hot sauce. Used frequently in Mexican cooking to add spice, color and flavor, try the dried version to add a little heat to your cooking.
